By exporting the IDD file to HTML, you get the same collection of files as an ePub, but in the vernacular of web design. You can expand (or decompress) the archive to see the individual components. I discovered that an ePub file format is a zipped archive of an HTML file, its images, and style sheet. ![]() It turns out that the website metaphor is appropriate. ![]() So, I decided to export my IDD file to HTML and create the eBook as if I were building a website. The results were less than stellar and I couldn’t figure out how to make and save changes. Next, I tried exporting my IDD document to an ePub file format. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work on my old iMac. It was quite the adventure! First, I tried Amazon’s publishing tool Kindle Create. Then, I leapt into the eBook world for the first time. When my partner, Peggy, and I completed our third book together a couple of months ago ( Inside the Rainbow: Soul Connection in Nature), the steps to prepare it for print on Amazon’s KDP platform were familiar to me.
